w3.org – Do Not Track:
(One of the latest global initiatives is the
attempt to create a ‘Do
Not Track’ (DNT) standard for the internet. This would be a way for people
to use their browser to signal to websites that they don’t want to have their
behavior recorded, and a requirement for websites to then respond to that
request).

EU law – Legal cookies:
(Websites mainly use cookies to:
-
identify users
-
remember users’ custom preferences
- help
users complete tasks without having to re‑enter information when browsing
from one page to another or when visiting the site later).
The EU Internet Handbook:
Sorry for this looks so complicated. But there is a law (after May 25, 2018),
and all websites have to comply with these directives. How and what parts of the
law that must be met depends on what sites they are running and what visitors
there are.
Information and the right to waive certain things should be found on each
website.
If you trust the websites you visit(s), you can certainly be quite sure that
they also meet all EU’s new GDPR requirements.
